Mamor logoMamor logo Mámor translates to "ecstasy" in Hungarian, a level of pleasure that transports you to Old Europe as you enjoy your sumptuous High Tea in a most unexpected pocket of Melbourne.

Come join Dr Hanna, Chocolatiere and Doyenne of the High Tea in her sumptious Szalón, unique in all Australia.

Our European High Teas are served in the Austro-Hungarian tradition of Vienna and Budapest and are offered throughout the year in our Collingwood shop by appointment, including Sundays. When you step into our baroque Chocolate & High Tea Szalón, you notice the antique walnut glass-doored cupboards betopped with marble counters, on which sit trays of our signature chocolate truffles. All chocolates are hand-made on our premises with flavours to titillate. For white and milk chocolate lovers there is passion fruit, absinthe, Baileys, strawberry black pepper, lemongrass and coconut, nut cluster. For the dark lovers, you shan't miss the chilli, raspberry framboise, mint, and dark beer.

Mamor Szalon InteriorThe Szalón in Collingwood/Melbourne is lavishly furnished and upholstered with antique chairs and divans, chandeliers bespeckled of crystals, plush velvet pillows, silver accessories sparkling to the glint, and traditional cutlery and crockery. Tea settings are antique and imperial, with gold and silver, and with rich tablecloths whose raised patterns invite the fingers to caress. Our shop window is always decorated with seasonal motifs and sometimes outlandish art. (Top)

Our menu

Mamor interiorMamor interiorOur menu includes an eleven-course repast with everything from savouries to sweets. Special requirements may be accommodated, as a sample you may find: chicken liver mousse and liptó cheese pâté artisan style chocolate truffles (hand made on site in the chocolate laboratory by our host and owner Dr Hanna Frederick), Somlo sponge cake (which is a rum soaked walnut and chocolate sponge cake layered with vanilla pudding, apricot jam, topped with whipped cream and chocolate sauce). Add to that some French bubbly, juice, coffee and a selection of Madame Flavour gourmet leaf teas, you and your party will be in Monarchy Heaven! See our sample menu (pdf).

Special occasion high teas can be booked - the perfect way to celebrate a birthday or hen party. We are an intimate setting and can seat maximum 15 people at three tables, but people also love standing and socialising for our buffet style for up to 50 people.

Everything is freshly baked on the premises for your particular occasion. You can even create your own chocolate couture menu (see "My Philosophy of Chocolate Couture") to your theme or holiday, from birthdays, engagement, and anniversaries, to corporate meetings. The menu changes to reflect seasonal produce and themes. That is why we need reservations and exact numbers.
